I belong to a group of women who are midlife bloggers. We are a diverse bunch in what we write about, but we have one thing in common, we are all women who have a few miles on us and we are proud of it!
I was thrilled when Anne Paris and Sharon Greenthal of Midlife Boulevard announced the first BAM 2015 Conference. I knew these remarkable women online and now I would have the opportunity to meet them in the flesh! More than that, I would get to learn from them which for a newbie blogger is a big deal. Anytime I have an opportunity to learn, I’m all over it.
The conference was at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville. I had never been to Nashville so I was excited to visit this city for the first time.
I talked about my trip to Nashville in another post. Let’s just say it was quite the journey! By the time I got to Nashville, I was exhausted. The staff at the Gaylord Opryland Resort made me feel so welcome that my crankiness soon melted away when I saw what a beautiful venue it was.
A great venue for a great conference
The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center is set on nine acres under glass atriums with lush gardens and cascading waterfalls. It has seventeen restaurants and loads of shops as well as a their on-site Relâche Spa & Salon. The resort even has a boat ride you can take on the river that winds around the property. It was a great place for a conference.

Welcome to Nashville!
The Gaylord Opryland Resort is such a great venue that there is enough to do with out ever leaving the property. But then you would miss all the sights and great music in Nashville. The main strip is known for its Honky Tonks and they did not disappoint. One after the other offered live music and a party atmosphere and we were there on a Sunday afternoon! I loved the beautiful neon signs, the Honky Tonks with live music and how everything in Nashville exuded music!

BAM Conference 2015
The highlight of my trip was BAM (Bloggers At Midlife) conference. The agenda jam was packed with great speakers. They shared their experiences and knowledge on topics such as:
- Blogging
- Branding
- Getting published online
- Creating a great media kit
- Social media
We were inspired by Martie Duncan, Food Network Star Finalist and Party Planner. We heard stories about women reinventing themselves and persevering through it all. We “Tweeted” all day long and trended in the number two position on Twitter. We munched on Cabot Cheese and delicious Stouffer’s mac and cheese cups and had a great lunch sponsored by Collective Bias. Best of all, we hung out and got to know each other. In the end, I made a ton of new friends that are now part of my tribe.

Going to BAM 2015 was the trifecta of cool:
- Meeting and learning from all those wonderful women
- Staying at the amazing Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center (I would have loved to stay longer)
- Enjoying all the fun in Nashville!
Oh thank you so very much for this amazing recap. It was super duper fun to see all the people I know digitally and hear all about the conference. I certainly hope to attend next year! PS. I love your multiple photo look is that a plugin, if so which one? Thanks.

Tamara, conferences are great learning and networking experiences. We are going to TBEX in Spain at the end of the month. Can’t wait!!!
I’m so sorry I had to miss this conference. Next year?
Next year for sure!!
It sounds like a great time, both personally and professionally. Sorry I had to miss it. Hopefully next year!
Yep, I’m going next year for sure!!
That really looked like a blast. I’m hoping next year I can get to go!
I think next year will be great as long as we don’t have a snow storm the day before everyone flies!
I was so sad I had to cancel, it sounds fun!
I made it there by the skin of my teeth Carol. I’m so glad I decided not to cancel. There’s always next year! I would have loved to have more time to meet people and hang out!!
I don’t do the TV turnoff either! When teachers pressure my children to participate, I tell them to tell their teachers that if they are willing to live here for a week with four kids and no TV, video game, or computer, then I will be willing to paciertpati! So far no teachers have ever bitten on that one…
I hated to miss this event! Next year for sure!
I hope next year to meet you! It was so much fun! Loved Nashville and the venue!!!
You summed it up perfectly. The best part was meeting so many people in real life! I am already looking forward to the 2nd.
Thanks Doreen. It was great meeting you! Hopefully we can meet up since you live so close! We are down your way often!!
